There are music bands that come and music bands that go, and then there are music bands that stand the test of time, the kind of music band that transcends the generations. BandsEveryone knows the Beatles…………and every new band hopes to achieve that kind of fame.

Not all bands are famous or are intended for fame. There are bands that play at weddings and functions that generally play covers and not original music, and there are marching bands who play a very different sort of music and crowd.

A marching band plays in parades down the city streets or in the sports stadium as part of the build up to the game. Rock bands are traditionally the bands that hit the music chart highs. A rock band superstar is every girls dream boyfriend, and every guys hero.

Rock bands also often have the most outrageous names, hairstyles, outfits, make up and stage shows, not to mention song lyrics. Occasionally it's not even the rock band's music that gains them popularity, rather their over-the-top way out image and stage production that leaves their fans in awe.

Anything goes is the rock band motto, and the crazier - the better. My all time favorite is the rock band ballad. For as rough, tough, outrageous and gruff the rock band might appear, the rock band ballad simply croons

From a slightly different genre of the popular music world, Beyonce unveiled with her customary grace the dates for her new tour this week. She will be promoting her new album, B'Day, in several countries on the continent including Germany, Belgium, France, Spain and Italy, before finishing up with five UK dates starting on June 1st....

Country music concerts cap Toms River Fest '06

The music has stopped, and the diverse aromas that filled the air near where the food vendors were have dissipated. Toms River Fest 2006 is at an end. Thousands of people bid the festival farewell in style Sunday as the four-day event wrapped up with a day full of concerts, rides and family fun. "You got a nice breeze going right now," Freehold resident David Lovelace said as he listened to the country music emanating from the stage. Promises of performances by country music stars including Lonestar and LeAnn Rimes were what brought Lovelace, his 30-year-old daughter, Danielle, and countless others to the final day of the event. "I think it draws more people when you have bigger names," said Debbie Savje, 53, of Marshfield, Mass. She attended with her fiancee, Bill Parker of Manchester....
