The BBC is hoping more than 80,000 people across the country will try to set a new record for the number of people dancing a set routine at the same time. Ely has been selected as the Cambridgeshire venue for the Big Dance session. Everyone is invited to take part in the event, being funded by the Arts Council and the BBC. Diccon Hogger, an Ely dance coach, will start putting local dance schools through their paces at 11.30am on Saturday, July 22. By 12.30pm, members of the public need to be in the gardens ready to follow the leader and dance school members as they show novices how it is done.
