'Channel 9' officials are courting the Brit superstar to speak on camera during the five-Test match series between Australia and England scheduled to commence on November 23. They are hopeful that they will be able to convince Jagger to make a cameo appearance in at least one of the matches. "It's pretty universally known that he is a massive cricket fan. He went to one of the Test matches in the last Ashes series in England. This would be absolutely huge for us," Contactmusic quoted a Channel 9 spokesman as saying. (ANI) ....

| | | Burden of Dreams | | Posted Wednesday, October 04, 2006 1:07:09 PM by Blog57 Team | | Les Blank's award-winning documentary is less a "making of" than a history of Herzog's Fitzcarraldo and an intimate portrait of Herzog himself, a philosopher-adventurer in his own right, fighting tooth and nail against the "vileness, baseness and obscenity of the jungle". Throughout the production, Herzog battles Indian politics, armed intimidation, a plane crash, record droughts, record rainfall, the tragic death of one of the Indians working on the film, and has to replace his two main characters (Mick Jagger being one of them). It's an extraordinary adventure that many called irresponsible, egotistical, the obsession of a madman. Perhaps, but as Herzog himself points out, adversity produces something special and Fitzcarraldo, for all its faults, is certainly that.... | |

| | | Sir Mick Jagger is P Diddy's muse | | Posted Monday, September 18, 2006 7:16:39 AM by Blog57 Team | | Washington, Sept 12: Sean Combs admits he wants to pursue his career the way Sir Mick Jagger's has, insisting that alike the 63 year old star, he too wants to be passionate about his work. Combs' biggest inspiration creatively is Prince, but as far as whose career he would like to emulate, he admires the Rolling Stone singer the most. "Mick Jagger - he truly believes. He could be 80, and he will still stick his foot in somebody's a** that's 18 years old," Contactmusic quoted him, as saying. "Some things are beyond human standards, and those are the people that I admire. I don't think Mick Jagger does shows to make money. I'm sure there's times when he's got to pay some bills, if he crashed a yacht or something, but what keeps him out there is that he loves what he does," he added. --- ANI Post your comment Article Title: Sir Mick Jagger is P Diddy's muse Disclaimer: Copyright 2006 ANI.... | |

"How many of you have come to Saratoga for the music?" he shouted, as a big cheer went up in response. "How many are here for the races?" he yelled back, as once again the people in his raucous audience let up a mighty roar. Ever since 1777, when General Kosciuszko of Poland held the British back from advancing in the Battle of Saratoga, visitors to this city of 35,000 people have been welcome. Friday night rock 'n roll offers one of the many reasons why they're drawn. Over at The Wishing Well restaurant in Wilton, its three dining rooms were filled with a "who's who" of racing troubadors, feasting on platters of freshly sliced tomatoes, lamb chops, and corn....

| | | Will Mick Jagger and the Stones roll into town? | | Posted Monday, July 31, 2006 3:06:18 PM by Blog57 Team | | The Rolling Stones may make a stop at Churchill Downs as part of their "Bigger Bang" tour, according to several fan Web sites and Louisville insiders. One site -- www.iorr.org -- currently lists a Sept. 30 Stones stop at the Downs as something that "may happen." In recent days, a handful of once-rumored performances have become confirmed concerts. Churchill Downs publicity director Tony Terry says he has "not been told of any Stones concert, and obviously there is no contract or we would be releasing the information." However, adds Terry, "It's great to think that Churchill Downs would host a Stones concert. A legendary site and a legendary band -- what an experience for the fans and the group." Drunk claims denied David Hasselhoff has scoffed at reports that he was grounded by British Airways the other night because he was too inebriated.... | |
