THE Rev. Fr. Deogratias Mugabo, a priest of Lugazi Diocese, has joined the fraternity of celebrated Catholic Gospel musicians. But unlike artistes like Fr. Anthony Aliddeki Musaala and Fr. Michael Ssenfuma, who picked up urban contemporary Gospel music, Mugabo has opted for sacred classics. Mugabo's music shares many elements with that of Fr. James Kabuye, an internationally reknown liturgical music writer/composer, who holds an incredible 1,000-song repertoire. Mugabo's songs, which are highly polyphonic, are rich with Gospel-rooted themes. The songs are also sweetly melodious and choral. Mugabo uses appropriate lyrics, which effectively deliver the spiritual and moral messages of the respective songs. The Bishop of Lugazi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Mathias Ssekamaanya, says of Mugabo's liturgical works, "This son of the Church has composed beautiful songs which are full of edifying power....

For the kids, there are dozens of rides named after the Ozark traditions reflected in the park -- rides like Lost River of the Ozarks, American Plunge and Fire-in-the-Hole. The brand new Grand Exposition features ten new family rides and new games....

They trade by the name Chitheka Family and one of the many things they are known for is their intoxicating sting in the gospel music circles. Whenever they call, a tall string of fans will run. The Chitheka Family owes its name to the fact that the six membersNaomi (Mrs Simbi), Nyaradzai (Mrs Ndolo), Mercy, Ezekiel, Susan, and the founder and group leader Enesia (Mrs Chitheka-Malunga)are one, daughters and a son of Bishop Chitheka of the Church of Forward in Faith. The group, now five years old having set out on musical journey in 2001, has so far painted a legacy by doing three albumsMsiyeni Mulungu (2001), Mfuneni Ambuye (2003) and the latest Mwazi Wa Yesu that they originally did in 2005 but had to remix in 2006 after fans were not so amused with its production. The move paid off because the fans now appreciate the way it has been remixed, says Chitheka-Malunga....
